In the late 1990s, Dr. C.R.H. Gigante McBain (Dr. Mac) travelled to Asia to begin his search to work as a medical volunteer. This search took him to S. Korea, Laos, Thailand, Nepal, Hong Kong and the Philippines. He decided to remain in Thailand and work as a medical volunteer for now nearly thirteen-years, along with his wife whom he met in Thailand. They continue travel to Nepal and the Philippines regularly to assist with the poor and needy in these countries as well.
Late in 2007, Dr. Mac felt God’s call to turn his medical volunteer work towards the needed area of Medical Missionary for Catholic Church. Since then, he became very involved with the Association of the Miraculous Medal in Perryville, Missouri, bringing active members to the know more about and being a part of the Blessed Mother’s message of love and caring. He was made a Promoter of the Association in 2008 and continues to bring members to the knowledge of love and blessings given freely from Our Beloved Mother Mary.
In very early 2009, Dr. Mac’s love and faith in the Blessed Mother grew, and he felt the call to serve the poor and needy even stronger than before, but this call was now more directed by an inner vision of “going out” and serving as a Medical Missionary that the Blessed Mother had placed in his heart and mind. As a result of this inner vision and call, he felt urged to form the Medical Missionaries, and compelled to contact the Militia of the Immaculata in the U.S.
With the continued direction of the Blessed Mother and the Blessings from God, Dr. Mac was contacted by Fr. Stephen McKinley and Fr. Patrick Greenough, Conventual Franciscan Friars of Marytown. As a further result of the direction from the Blessed Mother, and the ongoing dialogue and spiritual support received from Fr. Patrick Greenough, Dr. Mac as the Medical Missionaries, was granted blessed permission by Rome to associate with the National Center of the Militia of the Immaculata in the U.S. at Marytown, Libertyville, Illinois on 22 August 2009 (Queenship of Mary).
Dr. C.R.H. Gigante McBain (Dr. Mac) as the Medical Missionaries, has blessedly, through the intercession of the Beloved Blessed Mother Mary, became associated to and under the supervision of the Militia of the Immaculata as the first of its kind within the family of the Militia of the Immaculata, to serve the people of Thailand, Nepal and the Philippines, with the vision of "going out" and bringing God's works to these areas and other areas of need in the Asian Region, through much needed Medical and Health Care Evangelisation as directed by God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, in honour Our Beloved Blessed Mother Mary, and to help strengthen the Holy Roman Catholic Church. |
